Elvis came to see me again today. He said I can never leave the island, the world must not know he is alive. I explained to him about my website and the billions of people that can read it on the internet.
He was not pleased

Unsure what is real and what is not. I think Elvis came to see me today. said something about living here on this island for 25 years without getting bothered and then some white trash backpacker ruins it all.
Then he walked into the sea, I think he had gills.

Heard singing in the night last night. Sounded like Elvis.
Everthing seems floaty and unreal, if I clench my fists tight, my finger come out the back of my hands and my arms turn inside out. It looks really great.

I had a dream last night, a man came to help me, gave me food and drink and told me everything would be fine.
I wish I could beleive him.

Someone changed the letters I made on the beach, I am sure it wasn't me , instead of HELP they now read LEAVE ME ALONE.

Dizzy today. Drank too much sea water. Their is what I think is fresh water inland, but I keep getting lost.
Thought I heard voices in the night. But it was my own voice . .. screaming at the birds .

Trouble. My mobile phone battery is running low. I can recharge my PC from the solar power radio because it was designed to take a charge forma solar cell, but the phone does not seem to hold the charge. This might be the last time I update for a while, I am on an Island approx 20 miles circumferance somewhere off mainland Borneo. The beach is half sand half pebbles, the interior of the island rises up sharply to a peak in the centre and is densly foliated.
I can live on fruit and what fish and birds I can catch, the solitude should be no problem for me as I am a hardened traveller. Someone is bound to turn up on the island soon, or fly overhead so I am writing HELP in stones along the beach every few miles.
I'll miss the Internet connection, but I'll be fine.

I'm back.
It's an island.
I walked for about four hours yesterday, then set up camp. I set off again this morning and arrived back at my original camp after ten minutes. If I'd just walked another ten minutes yesterday I could have done the whole island's coast all the way round in just over 4 hours.
I've looked on the Internet for Islands this size near Borneo, and there are a few contenders, E-Mail me if you think you know where I am.

I am setting off now to walk down the coastline. If it's an island I should return to my shelter here on the beach, if it isn't, I should hit some form of settlement soon. I intend to walk for five full days before turning back, I've stocked up on fish, fruit and grubs and should be able to walk pretty much all day. It might be ten full days before I update again if I go the full five days before walking back, so don't worry.

I've fashioned a shelter out of branches and driftwood and I am trying to gather my strength. I plan to follow the coastline tomorrow and see if I hit civilisation.
Borneo has loads of small settlements on the coast so I'm sure I'll work out where I am soon.
Thanks for all you E-Mail support, and for all of you that bought my T-Shirts. I love you all, it's really inspirational, sometimes when I'm really low and near death, an E-Mail from Cherry in Idaho telling me about her husbands drink problem or from Bob in New Zealand telling me about his office job where he counts things all day helps me keep going.

I think I've been blacked out for a while.
I came round today on a beach, by an incredible stroke of luck my backpack had washed up on the beach just next to me.
My memory of what happened is a bit hazy, the last thing I remember I was breaking through the bottom of the cupboard, and now here I am on a beach. There's some driftwood and plastic stuff around me on the beach, but nothing much that resembles a boat. I'm not sure if I'm on an island or the mainland.
My laptop screen is a bit the worse for wear, but survived surprisingly well, and by another amazing stoke of luck, I found a solar powered radio that I've fiendishly adjusted to power my laptop and phone. I know, I didn't beleive it either, it must be Desmond, the patron saint of backpackers watching over me.
