BORNEO DIARY

   20/01/2002

Left the shelter to make some distance. The rain had stopped and the most beautiful sounds are coming from all around me, as if Borneo is saying "Keep going Marlowe, you have your backpack with you, you cannot die".

Very tired now. Spent the night vomiting snake.

Good news! I found an old structure, possibly a temple and was able to shelter from the terrible humidity. I surfed the net for a bit and visited my mate Rick's site, Hi Rick. Also managed to kill a snake and eat most of it. Will let you know in the morning if it was edible or not.

Still weak from lack of food. Managed to get the webcam going for a bit. I ate some grubs and some food the monkeys dropped. Haven't seen another person now for thirty-seven days, haven't eaten properly for, I think (time seems weird out here) for about a week. Thanks for all your support and keep reading and E-Mailing me.

Hard to find food in this part of the jungle, I have been lost for ages now, feeling disoriented and nauseous.

My spirits are high, I had a good nights sleep last night, maybe five or six hours before the rain woke me. I can see my ribs quite clearly now and have decided to make finding food my main priority and worry about finding my way home later. Big thanks to Jessica from Toronto who E-Mailed me the picture of the Pot Roast. I was violently last night, but feel better for clearing out my system. I would kill for a Mars Bar right now, and I am beginning to see things that are not there. I just had to take a second look at a nearby tree, it seemed to have a golden door in it a minute ago , but then it was gone.
