BORNEO DIARY

   19/03/2002
It's the vote result tommorow, so I'm spending today updating bits of this site in case I don't get chance again. If you have not voted yet, please do so, and tell your friends, one day to go.

I'm a bit nervous of the outcome now, it's a close thing.

Well, I'm back after spending days exploring the lower tunnels of the complex, if this was just a toxic waste dump, then why are there so many miles of corridoors? I've had a LOT of E-Mail the past few days with some interesting theories-

Ken from Brighton thinks-
"The underground passages are part of an old mine that has been converted into a secret government research facility, the only reason they would close it down is because it is infected. Do not leave the area, you may be contaminated already. You must die there"

A little melodramtic Ken, but thanks for thinking of me. I have been losing a bit of hair, so I thought that I might have some radiation poisoning, but I feel OK in myself, I havn't vomited for days.

Diana Frederick from Texas told me-
"I love you, I read your diary every day. Please do not open the door, instead come to Texas and meet me. I know from reading your thoughts that you would love me too."

Diana- As I explained in my previous seven E-Mails to you, you seem a lovely person, but it isn't love you are feeling, it is just a desire to experiance some of the wonders that are my every day life. Our lives are poles apart and you would be much better off forgetting about me and finding a nice Texan bloke that is a bit more accessible. If anyone is interested, Diana is registered on Singles121 as "texashottie" and is both attractive, articulate, bubbly and intelligent with a GSOH.

Bob Stone from Iceland wrote-
"You are stupid man, you see a door it sealed for a reason, do not open it. I am not joining some single desperate website to stop you, I am telling you, leave it alone."

Beautifully put Bob, I have had a few mails from people who want to vote but don't want to register at the singles site, (Lynda Buendel and the Myecom forum, John Radder, Carl Chamber and Terry Hewitt) so for those of you I have a friend who has set up

THIS

for me, you can now vote with just one click of the mouse, but don't try and vote more than once, only one vote per unique visitor counts.

I thought I heard voices in the night last night, some shouting and a little screaming, I don't want to get involved with the natives again until I've decided what to do about this place, so I'm going back down into the complex, taking some rations and the laptop and will try and map it out. So many of the tunnels and corridoors look the same, I want to have a permanent record of the layout. If the vote says I am not to open the door I will go and see if I can find out who is doing the shouting, it sounded native.

If I don't post for a few days, don't worry! I'll be down in the underground complex, I've got rations and want to see if I can find some documents or something down there that I can publish on here to expose whoever left all this crap out in the rainforest.

Tried to explore further down, but some of the tunnels are blocked by rubble.

I'm getting a lot of E-Mail telling me not to open that door, but in the great tradition of Internet votes, I am ignoring it. If you want me to leave it alone, you have to vote. :)

Quiet day today, I'm getting bored of the Military rations I found, I'm getting a craving for a nice juicy spider or some fresh grubs. Jason Hope E-Mailed me these thoughts-

Hey Marlowe,
So coming home anytime soon? I dunno if I could do what you are. Why did you go to Borneo of all places? There's places more challenging to get lost in...how about a desert?
Hope you make it home safe. I am typing this email while I sit here eating Kentucky Fried Chicken...mmmmm

Jason

Yeah, thanks for that Jason.

For anyone who hasn't voted (and that's just about everyone!), there's one week of voting left (ends 20/03/02) check out the links below.
I'm doing an online vote to decide whether or not to open this door-

Read my previous diary entries to see what the fuss is about.
